Boost your library and book corners by asking parents of Year 6 students to donate a book. Here’s what happened when King’s Road Primary invited us along to help them celebrate their 90th birthday.
After consultation with the Literacy Lead, a wish list of books for the school library was compiled by one of our Advisory Librarians. These books were then brought to the sports day birthday celebrations, along with bespoke name plates. Parents had the opportunity to purchase and donate books for the library; their name then being displayed on the name plate on the inside of the book. The books were jacketed and classified at no extra cost to the school, so it was easy for the books to be put straight into the library. The event was a huge success and the school had over 80 books donated to the library as a result of our attendance at the event!
