Phonics Subscription

New for the 15-16 academic year – phonics subscription for schools 

Building on the success of the Moving Forward with Phonics course for phonics leads, the phonic subscription will enable your school to further develop the role of the phonics lead, thereby impacting on phonics provision across the school. It will also provide an opportunity to network with colleagues in order to share ideas and successes.

The subscription includes:

  • One half day adviser visit, tailored to the needs of your school – examples of how this time could be used include:- action planning with phonics lead, phonics audit, lesson observations and feedback, staff training, analysis of screening check outcomes
  • Annual Leading on Phonics CPD session for phonics lead
  • Ongoing support from named adviser
  • Information on local and national initiatives pertinent to the teaching of phonics
  • Access to resources produced by the consultancy team

Spelling Subscription

Spelling has a high profile within the new national curriculum and it is important for schools to ensure that it is taught systematically and well. The Leading on Spelling network will give you access to adviser support along with the opportunity for a member of your team to attend high quality training and engage with colleagues from a range of schools. 

The subscription includes:

  • One half day adviser visit, tailored to the needs of your school – examples of how this time could be used include:- action planning, spelling audit, lesson observations and feedback, staff training
  • Annual Leading on Spelling CPD session for one delegate from your school 
  • Ongoing support from named adviser
  • Information on local and national initiatives pertinent to the teaching of spelling
  • Access to resources produced by the consultancy team

Talk for Writing

Are you familiar with the Talk for Writing materials?  

Perhaps you would like to use this method in your school but are not sure where to start?

EES for Schools, has designed a package that will suit your school.

The material used is based on the work of Pie Corbett and is proven to raise the standards of reading, writing and oracy. It is a sustainable programme that has been proven to improve both Fiction and Non-Fiction writing.

Reading Review

Assess your whole school reading approach with a Reading Review; an independent evaluation of reading provision across the school.

The Reading Review includes:

  • half-day visits from specialist staff from our Education Consultancy team and School Library Service
  • an examination of the effectiveness of your current teaching of reading practice 
  • an evaluation of book stock and reading environments 
  • a detailed report outlining steps to further develop the teaching of reading 
  • recommendations to achieve greater impact from resources
