Jiangsu International Children’s Painting Contest 2017

Invitation to Jiangsu International Children’s Painting Contest 2017

EES for Schools China Educational Links and Mandarin Programme team would like to invite your students (aged 6 – 12 years old) to take part in the Jiangsu International Children’s Painting Contest 2017, organised by the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial Government and Jiangsu Broadcasting Cooperation, with support from Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and Jiangsu Art Association in China.

The theme of the contest is ‘Painting Your Hometown, Dreaming Your Future’. Chosen to highlight the friendship between Jiangsu’s young generation with its sister regions. A special exhibition will be held in Essex this July displaying a selection of paintings from both Essex and Jiangsu students.

Each school is invited to enter five pieces of artwork to the contest, with each student being awarded a certificate of participation. 10 overall pieces will be chosen from Essex to be exhibited in Jiangsu China and made into an album with artwork from China and 20 other countries. Each student whose artwork is exhibited in China will also receive a prize.

Requirements

  • Theme: Painting Your Hometown, Dreaming Your Future

  • Student Age: 6 -12 years old
  • Medium (including but not limited to): aquarelle, gouache, printmaking and, encaustic scratch
  • Size: A3

Please attach the following information to each painting:

  • title of the painting and introduction to artwork

  • student’s name, nationality, city, and age
  • teacher and school name as well as email address
The closing date for entries to the contest is 20 March 2017. Please post artwork to:

Jiangsu-Essex Art Exchange

Jiangsu will be organising a group of Chinese students with their winning paintings to visit Essex and participating schools in July (exact dates TBC) for an art exchange. If your school is interested in hosting some of the Chinese students and taking part in joint art activities, please email athena.page@EESforschools.org to register your interest.
